The “New” Irish Lady was purchased in 2006 so that Denis Mahoney could live out a personal dream--to race to Hawaii with his sons in the Pacific Cup ‘06. Little did he know at the time that it would be his last visit to Hawaii. Denis died suddenly and unexpectedly just fourteen months later. However, Denis left an unforgettable legacy and twin sons that will ensure the legacy of the Irish Lady will live on for generations to come.

Mike and Pat Mahoney form the leadership of the Irish Lady Racing team and have been sailing on the San Francisco Bay for over three decades together. The new Irish Lady is a Catalina 42 Mk II. Her main focus is on coastal and open ocean racing in the near future. She will also spend some time cruising in the off season with the “REAL” irish lady at her helm. Denis’ wife Anita will do her best to live out THEIR dreams.

During much of August she may also be found docked at Tinsley Island Station in Stockton, CA. Tinsley Island is owned and operated by St. Francis Yacht Club where Pat and Mike are both members.
